Police Say Drive Safe this Weekend

Expect to see police monitoring the roads this weekend.

Police say with lots of people hitting the roads for the long weekend, police will be on the look out for bad driving habits. Timmins Police Service Communications Coordinator Marc Depatie says if you are heading out of town, there are a few things you need to remember to do before leaving like checking the roads and planning your trip.

Depatie says officers will be on the lookout for people who are speeding, not wearing a seat belt, distracted driving and following too close.

He says if you get caught doing any of these, you can face massive fines. Depatie says police will be making sure everyone gets to their vacation spots and back home safely.
