A Northern Ontario woman is sparkling with a new crown.
Timmins resident Crystal Hewey placed as the first runner up at the National Canadian Pageant in Calgary on July 20th.
Hewey says this is a natural pageant that focuses on who you are and what you stand for.
Hewey says pageants like these are important because it’s not all about your looks. She says it is really uplifting to be recognized for your volunteer work, how you present yourself and what you stand for.
Hewey competed in the 25 to 55-year-old age group. She says as first runner up she has volunteer duties to fulfill over the year. Hewey says she is excited and grateful to be crowned.
