One Northern City Rocked on the River

This year’s Rock on the River was the biggest and best yet according to organizers.

The Timmins Festival and Events Committee says the weekend festival  featuring Scott Helman, Walk Off the Earth and Billy Talent definitely saw a big increase in support and ticket sales over last year. Vice-Chair Jeremy Wilson says on the Friday night alone, there was an approximate 15 per cent increase in ticket sales over last year’s festival. Wilson says there are a few things that contribute to this success.

Wilson says this is amazing especially with the rain Timmins got throughout the weekend.

Chair John Olaveson says final ticket sale numbers could be released within the next few days. Olaveson says other budget numbers may take a while to sort out.

TFEC says the support from volunteers and sponsors has been amazing this year. The committee says this event would happen without the help of these people and organizations.

Olaveson says because of this year’s success he is 90 per cent sure there will be a 4th edition of Rock on the River next summer. He says the committee will continue to fundraise to make the next event even bigger and better than this year.
