Regional Trails Get Upgrades

A regional trail is receiving a face lift this summer.

The Mattagami Region Conservation Authority is doing some work to the Scout Rock Trail in Timmins this summer thanks to a $10,000 donation from the Wintergreen Fund for Conservation. Wintergreen volunteer Kees Pols says the funds are being used to help offset the costs of trail repairs, equipment and student worker wages.

This trail runs between Denise Park and Highway 655. Wintergreen Chair Micheal Doody says in total there is about 50 to 60 kilometres of trails in Timmins.

The MRCA says it’s thanks to partnerships like these that Timmins has a wonderful trail system and the means to keep them up to date.
