It was one of the best years yet according to organizers.
Porquis Rock n Blues Festival rocked all weekend long in Porquis Junction with new attractions like a country night and a battle of the bands. Artistic Director Colin Kennedy thinks this was the best year in the festival’s 21 year history. Kennedy says there are no final numbers yet, but it was great to see all the support.
Kennedy says the stars seemed to align with the festival this year. He says this year’s success comes from great volunteers and new additions and a free Sunday.
He says the organizers will be meeting on Thursday to go over the financials and final numbers. The festival’s best year had 746 people attend and organizers say this year most likely matched or did better.
Organizers say there has been an overall decline in ticket sales over the past few years. The group says it was worried this year was going to be the last one for the event. Kennedy says based on the visual success, there will be a festival again next year.
