No Smoking Legislation

In an effort to protect children and youth from the harmful effects of smoking it will be illegal to smoke on bar and restaurant patios, playgrounds and public sports fields and surfaces or to sell tobacco on college & university campuses. The changes to the Smoke-Free Ontario Act will take place on January 1st 2015. It’s part of the government’s plan to limit smoking in public places. This means that in Cochrane and Iroquois the ball fields and soccer pitches will be smoke free too.
