The province is taking action to protect communities from invasive species with the re-introduction of the Invasive Species Act. If it’s passed the bill will protect the province’s natural environment from invasive species. Asian Carp a fish introduced into US waterways by discharging fluids, is one such invasive species trying to make its way north. The act would give Ontario the tools to ban activities such as possessing and transporting certain species. The federation of hunters and anglers applaud the legislation.
