The Tim Horton Event Centre is getting bigger. The complex is expanding. Cochrane’s mayor, Peter Politis, says that almost 40% of the funding has already been approved by the province. Virtually no money is coming from the town’s coffers. Politis says that there are concerns including broadcast facilities in the complex. Also in the construction is a pavilion on Lake Commando. The $2 million project is already under construction. $1.6 million has already been committed to the project.
