Margaret Williams, who is running for the Progressive Conservatives in Timiskaming-Cochrane says a Tory government will get to the bottom of Ontario`s high deficit.
Williams says instead of having a deficit that the government claimed was $6.7 billion, the Auditor General says it`s well above $11-billion.
Williams says if elected, the P.C. government would look into why there’s a huge difference with the deficit numbers.
“The budget is not worth the paper it’s written on,” Williams said.
Williams also says a Tory government would make Ontario financially sound again but it will take time.
“It took 15 years to create this mess and it won’t be solved overnight,” she said.
As for the overall debt which is well above $300-billion, Williams says that works out to almost $24,000 for everyone in Ontario.
