Crunch Crowned NOJHL Champions

The Cochrane Crunch have finally reached the summit of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League.

The Crunch were crowned champions of the NOJHL last night inside their home rink of the Tim Hortons Event Centre after scoring in double-overtime to defeat the Rayside-Balfour Canadians by a 2-1 final.

Cochrane won the Copeland Cup-McNamara Trophy by taking the best-of-seven series in six games.

Crunch captain Connor Lovie was named the playoffs Most Valuable Player with three goals and 13 assists.

The Crunch will now represent the NOJHL at the Dudley-Hewitt Cup Central Canadian Junior A Championship from May 1st through 5th in Dryden Ontario.
