Some local youth had the opportunity to learn more about the importance of agriculture.
Mrs. Jones Grade 3 and 4 split class at Aileen Wright English Catholic School in Cochrane were visited by a pair of area farmers Valerie Chapleau and Elaine Kolomeitz of the Agricultural and Horticultural societies.
The two farmers presented the students with different types of vegetables and grasses in order to see the many ways that animals can be fed and explained the process of getting food from the farm to the grocery store.
The ladies also detailed just how important farming is for the production of our food.
Chapleau and Kolomeitz finished off by inviting the students to the Grow Right, Eat Right program currently taking place at the Cochrane Library.
