The death of a 65-year-old Kapuskasing woman has prompted the involvement of Ontario’s Special Investigations Unit.
OPP reports say that at roughly 5:30pm Monday Kapuskasing officers and members of Emergency Medical Services received a call from a woman to a residence on Riverside Drive and Kolb Avenue.
Upon arriving officers persuaded the woman to attend the hospital, which she was admitted to, however at 2:00am on Tuesday morning the woman was pronounced dead.
Two investigators and two members of a forensics team have been assigned, and an autopsy was completed Wednesday for the victim.
The SIU urges anyone with possible information regarding the incident to contact their local police.
