(NBA) The Toronto Raptors stopped a 2 game losing skid with a 96-91 win over the Detroit Pistons last night. Kyle Lowry had 18 points for the Raptors while DeMar DeRozan and Jonas Valanciunas had 17 points apiece.
(NHL) The Boston Bruins beat the Montreal Canadiens 4-1 last night. It was Hab’s coach Claude Julien’s first game back in Boston since he was fired nearly a year ago. In the only other game on the schedule last night Anaheim got past Pittsburgh 5-3.
(Tennis) Canada’s Daniel Nestor and partner Jonathan Erlich were eliminated in the first round of the doubles competition at the Australian Open. After the match, Nestor tweeted that this was his last grand slam in Melbourne. In singles action Maria Sharapova beat Anastasija Sevastova to advance while Wimbledon champion Garbine Muguruza was eliminated by Hsieh Su-wei’s.
