The OPP is asking drivers to be patient, responsible and aware when traveling on northern highways following a series of collisions over the weekend on Highway 11.
The OPP’s James Bay Detachment had officers respond to six crashes involving 17 vehicles between Thursday and Friday last week.
Media Officer Stephanie Belec says they had to close down the highway on two separate occasions before re-opening it Saturday.
Belec says when the highway is re-opened following a collision drivers need to be patient with the ensuing process.

She says to be prepared for changes in weather when driving.
The OPP is reminding you to drive with caution during the winter months.
