A Kapuskasing resident has chosen to seek nomination as the provincial NDP candidate for the new Mushkegowuk-James Bay riding.
President of the United Steelworkers Local 1-2010 Guy Bourgouin made his candidacy official Thursday afternoon.
Current Timmins-James Bay NDP MPP Gilles Bisson spoke about Bourgouin at the announcement using words such as confident, trustworthy and enthusiastic, as well as advocating that he would be a great addition to Queen’s Park.
Bourgouin says his family was a major factor in his decision to seek nomination at this time.
He says he wishes to fight for change in the province on many important topics to Northerners.
The provincial election is set to take place during the first week of June.
