Timmins-James Bay MPP Gilles Bisson is proposing a private member’s bill to regulate gas prices.
The NDP MPP will introduce a bill this week that will allow the Ontario Energy Board to regulate gas prices across Ontario week to week.
Bisson says prices fluctuate all the time at pumps throughout the province, even though the actual price of oil remains pretty consistent.
He says there are huge gas price differences across the province, but also even within the same region.
Bisson says he understands the frustration people have when gas prices jump for what seems like no reason.
He says Ontarians deserve better and that if there`s a way to even the price of alcohol across the province, the same thinking should apply to gas.
The gas regulation proposal was officially made in a Private Member`s Bill today.
