Operation Impact has been considered a success. According to OPP Media Officer Stephanie Belec, the OPP released their stats for Operation Impact from the Thanksgiving long-weekend with some solid results.
Belec says there were 147 total calls for service across the four day period from October 6th through 9th.
She says of those calls 60 were for speeding charges, meanwhile they only handed out 1 impaired driving charge, and 2 distracted driving charges.
Belec says this year’s campaign focused on educating and enforcing the ‘Big 4’ which are impaired, inattentive and aggressive driving as well as a lack of seatbelt use.
