(MLB) Marcus Stroman earned a career-high 12th win of the season last night as the Blue Jays beat the Kansas City Royals 5-2. Stroman allowed four hits and one earned run and Darwin Barney hit a 2 run homer for Toronto. Meanwhile off the field Marco Estrada is reportedly close to agreeing to a contract extension with the Jays. The deal is expected to include one guaranteed year.
(NHL) The Ottawa Senators defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 5-2 in pre-season action last night. Elsewhere Vegas beat Colorado 4-1, Boston doubled Detroit 4-2 and Buffalo needed overtime for a 4-3 win over Pittsburgh.
