(MLB)  Byron Buxton’s 10th-inning homer gave the MinnesotaTwins a walk-off 3-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays last night. Justin Smoak tied the game with his 38th home run of the season in the top of the ninth inning.  Toronto’s Luis Santos was charged with the loss. Meanwhile Cleveland’s Jay Bruce hit a walk-off RBI double in the 10th inning as the Indians rallied to beat Kansas City 3-2 and extend their AL record winning-streak to 22 games, moving within four wins of matching the 1916 New York Giants for the longest streak in MLB history.

(NFL)  The Houston Texans’ scored a late field goal to clinch a 13-9 victory over the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFLThursday nighter. The Bengals have failed to score a touchdown in their two games to open a season for the first time in their 50 seasons.

(NHL)  Some NHL notes, Colorado superstar Matt Duchene did report to the Avalanche training camp yesterday, Duchene has been the subject of trade rumours for the past season and it was rumoured he wouldn’t attend camp. Ottawa Senators forward Clarke MacArthur failed his medical on Day 1 of training camp yesterday. MacArthur made a surprising return to the NHL last April despite having been ruled out for the year after a training camp concussion. He played a total of 23 games last season.  The Boston Bruins have signed restricted free agent David Pastrnak to a six-year, $40 million contract.
