The Ontario Conservative party is looking to start a new awareness campaign.
Leader Patrick Brown announced on Friday in Timmins that he will be introducing a bill calling for the Liberal government to invest at least 10 per cent of their advertising budget into an opioid and fentanyl awareness campaign.
Brown says this is a big issue in Northern Ontario and people need to learn that small amount of these drugs can kill people.
He says this is becoming a big problem in the northern region and he wants the government to recognize that this is a crisis.

Brown says he doesn’t think this is a big request.
He adds the real purpose of government advertising is for the public good.
