Nickel Belt MP Marc Serre is congratulating the 23 Anishinabek Nation First Nations for signing a historic education agreement. The Education Self-Government Agreement with the federal government formally gives Anishinabek control over the curriculum in their schools from JK to Grade 12. This allows them to preserve and promote Anishinaabe culture and language. Serre says he is hopeful the federal government will continue to work to establish similar agreements with First Nations across Canada.
