A Korean cultural group from Toronto have been in Cochrane this week conducting a free day camp for children ages 6 through 12. The group, from Hope Korean Presbyterian Church Toronto, hosted a free community dinner the kids and their parents last night at the Apitisawin Centre gym, where the day camp has been held. They sang Christian songs, the church’s Pastor preached briefly, a taekwondo demonstration team and Korean Fan Dance team demonstrated their skills, and roughly 100 guests enjoyed a home cooked, authentic Korean meal. The two hour event, attended mostly by native families, was well received by all.
