(MLB)  The Toronto Blue Jays beat the Chicago White Sox 8-4 last night.  Justin Smoak hit his 31st homer, while Josh Donaldson homered and drove in three runs. Marcus Stroman went seven innings, allowing four runs and seven hits in the win.

(Hockey Canada)  Team Canada played a pair of split-squad scrimmages against Team USA at the World Junior Summer Showcase yesterday. Team Canada lost the first game 8-2, but rallied for a 2-1 win in game 2.

(Tennis)  Roger Federer confirmed yesterday that he will play in the Rogers Cup next week in Montreal. Federer won the 18th and 19th Grand Slam titles of his career earlier this season, taking the Australian Open and Wimbledon championships. It will be the World No. 3’s first trip to Montreal since 2011.
