(MLB)  Steve Pearce hit a walk-off grand slam in the ninth inning to give the Toronto Blue Jays an 11-10 comeback win over the Los Angeles Angels yesterday. The Jays were down 10-4 going into the bottom of the ninth, then Kevin Pillar got the rally started when he cranked a two-run homer then Pearce became just the third player in MLB history with two walk-off grand slams in one season, to complete the biggest ninth-inning comeback in Blue Jays’ history.

(Canadian Open)  Jhonattan Vegas beat Charley Hoffman in a playoff to win the Canadian Open for the second year in a row. Vegas shot a 7-under 65 in the fourth round to finish the tournament at 21 under. Mackenzie Hughes of Dundas Ontario was the low Canadian at 10 under and in a tie for 32nd. Graham DeLaet of Weyburn, Sask., fired a 71 to finish 8 under.

(Soccer)  Toronto FC shut out New York City FC 4-0 yesterday, increasing their lead atop Major League Soccer to five points. Toronto which last lost at home in regular-season play last October, notched its fourth shutout in its last five home games.
