The local area will have their chance to get into the swing of things this summer for the first time.
Hearst’s Slo-Pitch Tournament will be in its inaugural year and will follow most of the rules of the current ongoing Hearst Slo-Pitch league.
Organizer Jimmy Cote says the tournament is meant to be welcoming for all skill levels, and the reason behind the tournament is to promote tourism and attract further numbers of people into town.
Cote says it is events such as these that the town has begun putting in place more and more in order to attract further growth within sports tourism and further visitation within the community.
The Slo-Pitch tournament takes place Saturday, July 29th and Sunday, July 30th.
