English Public School Boards In North Unhappy With Provincial Funding

The English public school boards in the north aren’t happy with how the province allocates funding.

The District School Board Ontario North East which represents the Timmins region, objected to how much money the French language boards got.

Now the Near North District School Board is weighing in.

Chair Dave Thompson says it’s great that the French boards got a large amount of money.

However Thompson wants to know what rationale the province used when allocating the amounts to various boards.

Near North board chair Dave Thompson says trustees want answers.

Thompson says out of 22-million dollars, the French language boards were given half.
