At the World Baseball Classis the USA’s Marcus Stroman gave up one hit in six-plus innings, struck out three and walked one on 73 pitches as the US pounded Puerto Rico 8-0 last night to win the WBC championship. Stroman was named tournament MVP.
(Curling) Canada’s Rachel Homan is now 10 and 0 at the 2017 world women’s curling championship, defeating Italy 8-5 last night and clinching top spot in the round robin. Canada will now carry last-rock advantage in the first end of the Page playoff 1-2 game on Friday night.
