PAVILION PROJECT ON ITS LAST LEGS

More than 70 people showed up to the council meeting in Cochrane last week where the hot topic was the community pavilion project in. Most people in attendance wore “I Heart Pavilion” stickers with the hopes of reviving the project which is now on its last legs. Originally council shot down the idea in a four to three vote but Mayor Peter Politis is asking council to reconsider the direction at the August 30th meeting.  Politis says the pavilion would be used to host live entertainment and festivals.  With the additional funding the town would have received, the mayor says they would have been able to turn $250,000 of tax payer money into $2-million.
