DSB ONE Sees Attendance Rates Rising

Attendance rates are rising within School District Ontario North East.

A report presented by DSB One’s Mental Health and Well-Being Lead at the last board meeting showed that chronic absenteeism within the district declined by six per cent over the 2016-2017 school year.

Director of Education Lesleigh Dye says the drop from 23.3 per cent to 20.13 per cent is thanks to an Attendance Tool Kit.

Dye says this is because of all the hard work put in by the district’s staff.

She says now DSB One needs to focus on communicating the strategies that work and don’t work between all the schools in the district so they can see the attendance rates rise again.
