NOP Claims Local MPP’s Not Fighting Enough For Local Businesses

The new Northern Ontario Party is claiming that they have been approached by countless Northern Ontario businesses struggling with their hydro bills.

The Wynne Liberals controversial 25 per cent hydro rate cut which began back on July 1st was to create some real and significant relief for Ontarians.

NOP Leader Trevor Holliday stated in a press release Monday morning that the relief is not being felt by businesses in the North.

Holliday says the time for action is now and vocalized his dissatisfaction with current local MPP’s.

Algoma-Manitoulin MPP Mike Mantha has stated previously on social media that any changes to hydro to help small business won’t take place until after the next election in June of 2018.

Holliday says that statements such as this from Mantha continue to prove that current local MPP’s have not been willing to fight for local business when it comes to overbearing and unreasonable hydro charges.
