Nipissing’s MPP says talk of the Wynne Liberals signing another secret power deal with Quebec is more proof they’ve bungled the energy portfolio.
Vic Fedeli says the Auditor General says we already pay the US and Quebec billions of dollars each year to take our surplus power.
However, Fedeli says the Liberals are ready to strike another deal with Quebec that he believes will cost us a lot.
He says details of the energy deal remain secret but he’s hopeful the FAO can give us some information.
When Fedeli asked the Premier if the energy deal would result in lost contracts with Ontario’s small utility producers, she said no.
But Fedeli says the reality is eight plants closed, including operations in North Bay and Kapuskasing after the power deal was agreed to.
