With just days to go prior to the start of the 2017 Kapuskasing River Walleye Tournament, organizers are already cheering.
Organizers of the tournament are happy to announce that registration has been higher than any year previous.
This comes after a decision was made following last year’s tourney to enlarge the field from their previously used 100 boat maximum.
Organizers also are alerting competitors that because of the larger field they will be paying out cash prizes to the top 20 boaters not simply top 15 as in years past.
The larger pool of competitors also means a larger sum of winnings, which is expected to be in the range of $30,000 in total prizes.
The tournament begins with a rule meeting August 11th and the tournament runs Saturday, August 12th and Sunday, August 13th.
